Announcing the 2026 CBS-SCB Forum and Call for Abstracts!

2025-11-18

This year’s theme is ‘Trust and Distrust in Uncertain Times’. Recent events have raised concerns about the levels of distrust in expertise, including in health care, science, and research. We invite discussion about misplaced distrust and the “othering” of those who raise legitimate concerns or who have differing opinions. Constructive dialogue among parties that disagree is a pivotal part of work in bioethics. The 2026 Forum will explore how the Canadian bioethics community might promote respectful conversation that enhances curiosity and well-founded trust in these uncertain times.

This event will feature peer-reviewed presentations in a range of formats to be inclusive of disciplines, training, and career stages. Presentation formats include virtual poster presentations, short snappers, standard oral presentations, work-in-progress collaborations, and workshops. A student award winner will be selected in each category. The Forum will also include plenary speakers, panel presentations, and opportunities for interaction and networking.

The Call for Abstracts is open now and will close on December 15, 2025.  Visit the CBS website for more details and to submit your abstract!
